I first heard "Brand New Cadillac" done by The Clash on their LONDON CALLING LP. The original version was done back in the '50s by a British rocker named Vince Taylor. Here's his cool version along with... another gem.

Charlie Ryan had the hit "Hot Rod Lincoln" which had many a band covering in the years to come. The signature guitar and song structure would be heard in several later releases by him. Still, no matter how you sliced it, it just seemed to work!

'59 Cadillac Hearse... what a cool set of wheels. I always wanted to "drive" one... never want to "ride" in one.

One of my favorite surf cuts....

The Lemon Pipers hailed from Ohio & had a chart hit with "Green Tambourine". This rare gem was their first single on the small CAROL label. Obviously, a slight twist on Eddie Cochran's "Summertime Blues". Unfortunately, it's not included on the "Best Of" cd pictured.
