The Stooges first LP {circa 1969} produced by Velvet Underground member John Cale, blazed the path for punks in the near future.

James Newell Osterburg (aka Iggy Pop) started out as a drummer back in Michigan with a band called The Iquanas in the mid '60s. Here's Iggy's first tune he composed.... an early glimpse of what was yet to come!

Iggy Pop tribute week!!!!
The GODFATHER of punk turns 60 on Saturday 4/21 so a showcase is in order. Even at 60, The Ig has more rock in him then most of the wussies on the airwaves today.
Plus.. The Stooges have reunited with a new release & tour. I will post a fav from the new cd, but must wait due to the horrible news today out of Virginia.
Check out Iggy & the Stooges back in 2003 for AOL.

The IMUS fiasco.... give me a break. What is sad is NOT what he said (check any of the current top 10 rap song lyrics) BUT that he lacks the balls to back his comment up. I'M SORRY...but there's been a rash of slip of da tongues lately ( Mel Gibson, Michael Richards....) only to follow up with an apology. Puss nuts..
With this... I finally get to play a fav from my favorite band out of Columbus Ohio. A demented cover af The Avengers classic...
